This is a diary of our travels to California in September October 2005 to visit Russell and his family. It has been written as a joint effort between Sally and myself and is a mix of descriptions recorded at the time and recollections intertwined with the narrative after we returned. The plan was to meet up with Raewyn and Brendan who flew to LAX and then drove from there to Russell’s place. We spent a total of 27 days in California and returned on 7th October.
