Saturday 4th
Blenheim

Spent the day based at Blenheim. A late start to the day arising at 8:00am. Much rain overnight and a storm north of Wellington. Walked to the Blenheim town center in the morning for a look around and when we returned to the motel the rain started again. Decided to have a look around Picton in the afternoon. The short drive to Picton started off well, but then we drove through a real downpour of rain and sleet. Temperature dropping to 3 degrees, the river levels well up. With it still raining in Picton and freezing cold we simply drove around town to get a general idea of what it was like and then returned to Blenheim. And of course it then cleared up completely, so I went for a long walk around the river bank and streets taking photos.
