We spent today packing our bags as we were due to fly out from San Francisco at 9.45 pm. Walked into Downtown Mountain View to have some lunch and spent the afternoon lazing around. At 6.00 p.m Russell took us to the airport. It was very hard saying goodbye to Calvin. I think he knew something was happening. He had a “are they going away without me” serious look on his face. He is learning so quickly at the moment by mimicking and we will miss all those funny little things that we have witnessed over the past 4 weeks. He is a real cutie. Russell and Novey should be really proud of him. He has a lovely caring personality even at 21 months. After checking in at the airport we made our way through customs, having to take shoes off, jackets off and walk through security devices. We then had to have fingerprints checked again as well as another photograph taken. This is just the worst part of traveling. However, Air New Zealand had a nice waiting area and everybody was well looked after. Good trip back to New Zealand and the food was even quite good.
