Date: Description: The steamer SS Kawau used to make regular trips from Auckland to both Leigh and Ti Point Wharves as well as many other ports up and down the coast. It transported supplies and bulk groceries for the settlers as well as carrying passengers. Alvin can remember arriving at the Ti Point wharf in the SS Kawau having come from Auckland.
